Cedar Retaining Wall
This is an example of custom built cedar retaining wall!
This wall is build out of layered 6″ x 6″ posts. To make this structure, we created a base using gravel in a trench that carries water away from the bottom. The base layer is set level with a rebar hammered through. The other layers are all screwed together to secure them. It was capped with cedar boards for a finished look.
We use eastern red cedar, which is grown and milled here in Tennessee, making it a local wood source. The natural oils of the cedar make it rot resistant, and will sustain the elements for decades to come.
